Literary Hoaxes today, an ignored and mostly taboo subject

THAT WAS IN 1980. TODAY WE ARE IN 2020

ARE LITERARY HOAXES A CRIMINAL OFFENSE?

APPARENTLY MOST PEOPLE IN THE WESTERN WORLD CONSIDER FAKE BOOKS ok AS LONG AS YOU MAKE MONEY ON IT

First, did you know that there is virtually nothing about this subject in standard reference works of present day.  Although it has been known for years that the Anne Frank Diary was a literary hoax, standard works mentioning the diary, all make it out that it is not a hoax but as genuine.

When Otto Frank, the father of the purported writer, Anne Frank, for the first time in his life, and, for real, became faced with his hoax his explanation to Ditlieb Felderer was, that a court had declared it genuine. So what could poor Otto Frank do but listen to that court and call it genuine, not a forgery, not a hoax. We must follow the law even though he had written most of it.

Neither The Oxford Companion To English Literature (1995), or, Merriam-Webster´s Encyclopedia of Literature (1995) mentions anything about it. Neither does The Oxford Companion To Philosophy (1995) mention it but it has a good article on ´´plagiarism´´ (page 682).

In short, it almost seems nasty to imply that such a thing as ´´fake literature´´ exist in the Western world. Could that be, because if it was treated, the question of the authenticity of the Bible would come up? And make most of it our greatest forgery. And secondly, the Anne Frank Diary. Our second largest literary hoax.  And in selling books it is not a good thing to question subjects that are close to our pocketbooks.

A PURPORTED PICTURE OF ANNE FRANK THAT TELLS IT ALL

Take a close ans careful look at this picture purporting to show Anne Frank at her new home in Amsterdam. And now an avalanche of questions: How is it that none knew Anne fas moving to a new home? Did none ask where they were moving? Who helped them with moving all their belongings to their new home? Did they carry their belongings on their back or did they hire a horse and carriage? What about all the friends of Margot and Anne? Did none ask where they were going? The whole neighborhood must have known. What about the mail man? Did he not know where they were moving to? These and many other questions can be asked all showing the SECRET Anne Frank story is a complete farce. It’s about time the Anne Frank money racket starts paying indemnities for their lies and conviction of people who long ago saw the hoax for it ”just couldn’t be so!”
